On behalf of the Town of Bancroft I cordially invite you to mush into 2012 with the 30th Annual Bancroft Sled Dog Races.

2012 bring some major changes to our Annual Event. The Town of Bancroft, Parks and Recreation is now very excited to say we are the organizing body of the Bancroft Races.
This year we will be having the 50 mile Mid-Distance race, which will start at Rivers Edge Golf Course in Bancroft and finish at the Dungannon Recreation Centre in L’Amable (7kms south of Bancroft).
We will also be having a 20 mile race, that will also be starting at Rivers Edge Golf Course in Bancroft and finishing at the Dungannon Recreation Centre in L’Amable.
We have arranged for a Breakfast to be held in the park at the Golf Course from 7:30am to 11:30am.
The Kidd & Mutt Races will once again be in the ball diamond at the Dungannon Recreation Centre after all our mushers are in. The awards ceremony will be following the Kidd & Mutt Race. Dungannon Recreation Centre in L’Amable, 7kms south of Bancroft.
The Mid-Distance races are to go out at 11:00am, with the mushers meeting at 9:30am. The race will be 50 miles (ONE DAY) of cross country trails, open fields and some treed trails, it will be an absolutely beautiful run.
The 20 Mile race mushers meeting will be at 10:00am with the races going out at 11:30 am. With the excitement of the spectators cheering you on, as you race by, then find your way through the twists and turns of a maze with all spectators above you cheering, then dash off to the quiet trail through the pines. This is a race you wont want to miss.
A new spectator viewing area will be available, with a bon fire and hot chocolate and the wonderful relaxing sleigh ride to watch and cheer the teams in, enjoy the outdoor skating, food will be available on sight all day, finishing the day off with a dinner and awards ceremony.
